Recent Project: Loveland Fire Rescue Authority Training Center
CGRS CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
In March 2017, CGRS began constructing a new storm water system for the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority Training Center, a facility used for training firefighters in all aspects of their work. Runoff associated with training activities and storm water historically flowed to an impoundment that under the direction of the Colorado Public Health and Environment is regulated as a Type B impoundment, being unlined and the quality exceeding groundwater standards.
The new storm water system was designed and constructed in such a way that runoff associated with Loveland Fire Rescue Authority training is collected in an inlet which diverts this water through a sand/oil interceptor and ultimately to the sanitary sewer for treatment. Storm water is diverted to a newly-constructed water quality and detention pond.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Excavation of an existing impoundment, removal and disposal of petroleum-contaminated soil.
- Excavation of a new water quality and detention pond
- Installation of new storm sewer consisting of several hundred feet of 18”, 24” and 30” RCP and 14”x23” HERCP.
- Installation of pre-cast concrete structures, including manholes, a diversion inlet, sand/oil interceptor and water quality outlet structure with flow control plates.
- Extensive dewatering and treatment of the water through bag and cartridge filtration to be discharged to the sanitary sewer through a state permit.
- Performed final grading, seeding and erosion control.
